The Microbiologists also handle samples from GT, St.George and CAMA & Albless Hospitals and also provide outbreak investigation services as and when required.

The VCCTC is a part of Microbiology Department, where we have been doing Sentinel Surveillance of ANC and STD cases for HIV. These samples are screened from August to October every year, where we screen around 800 ANC cases and 250 STD cases for epidemiological purposes.
